Lettering for Honours Boards We Did Not Manufacture.
The Easiest Way
We can supply customers with honours board lettering even if you purchased your board elsewhere or made it yourself. We need to know a little bit of information in order to get the closest match we can, but once we've got that and produced your lettering. It's then very easy to replicate the lettering year after year.
The Information We Need to Know.
-
Lettering Height:
-
Let us know the height of a capital letter (in millimetres), the font style (if known), and the colour required.
-
-
Photographs:
-
Provide at least one clear image showing the overall board (or the specific section that needs updating).
-
If possible, include a straight-on shot showing the years and names, so we can match the spacing and format.
-
-
Quantities:
-
Tell us how many names or years you need (e.g., “20 new names, 20 years”).
-
A spreadsheet listing what you need can be helpful and avoid misunderstandings.
-
-
Font & Colour Matching:
-
We’ll do our best to replicate your existing font from your photographs.
-
Black lettering is the simplest to match we just need to know if it's gloss or matt black.
-
If you need another colour (e.g., “blue”), exact matching from photos alone can be tricky, but we can post out colour samples allowing you to choose the best one.
-
-
Future Updates:
-
Once we create the lettering for you, we’ll keep the details on file, making yearly or periodic updates easier going forward.
-
The Harder Way
There are three other ways in which you can supply us with the necessary information. These are more time consuming or involve costs, but ultimately may lead to a more accurate match.
-
Option 1: Send the Board to Us
-
We can measure everything directly, perfectly match text colours, and identify the correct font.
-
Ideal for the closest duplication of your existing board.
-
-
Option 2: Site Survey
-
Our team visits your location to gather measurements, fonts, and colours.
-
Useful if transporting the board isn’t feasible.
-
Note: There may be a charge for this service if you’re outside our local area.
-
-
Option 3: Pencil & Paper Rubbing
-
Make a rubbing of the sections needing updates, then send it to us.
-
We can take measurements from the rubbing, although colour matching will still rely on photographs or samples.
-
-
Installation Choices
-
After creating the lettering, we can either install it for you or send the finished decals for DIY application.
-
We have a video tutorial demonstrating how to apply lettering—no specialist tools required.
-
Whichever method of replication your choose, we'll always work with you to get as close a match as possible.

Delivery & Installation
We ship your vinyl lettering in secure packaging, along with application tape. The application tape holds each name or date in place which makes for accurate positioning during installlation.
We have a video showing how to install honours board lettering. If you've never done this before, it is worth watching this step by step guide and gaining a few tips from ourselves first.
Installation is straightforward: Most clubs, schools, and businesses update their boards themselves, saving the cost of us doing it, but we are certainly able to install if you would prefer.
Maintenance & Future Updates
Vinyl lettering is durable and requires little upkeep.
In general, a gentle clean using a soft cloth to remove dust is enough. Microfibre cloths are great for this as they help to avoid snagging any of the vinyl or leaving threads behind.
Please avoid abrasive cleaners to prevent damaging the vinyl or the board itself.
Solvent based cleaners should definitely be avoided. These can eat into the adhesive on the back of the vinyl, which then results in the lettering falling off.
A simple mild soap solution and a micro fibre cloth is sufficient to clean the boards during normal use. Please see our guide on the Care and Maintenance of Honours Boards for more information.
